Mrs. Mary Pero, a resident of Luton for the past seven years, died on Thursday morning, March 21st, at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. John Locock and Mr. Locock, following an illness of only a few days. She was in her 97th year and was born in Mapleton,
a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wismer. Mrs. Pero was a member of Trinty Anglican Church, Aylmer, and was one of the
oldest residents of this community. She had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Locock for the past seven years and had previously
resided in St. Thomas.
Survivng are one son John Pero, in Wisconsin, and one daughter, Mrs. John Locock, Luton.
The funeral was held at the Allen Funeral Home, Aylmer, on Saturday at 2:30 pm, Rev. P.H. Streeter had charge and many relatives and
friends attended from St. Thomas, Port Stanley, Belmont, Niagara Falls, N.Y., Malahide and Aylmer. The pall bearers were Arthur Wismer,
Roy McGregor, Skeen Smith, Oscar Watson, Henry Culham, and Harry Watson. There were many flowers and the flower bearers were
O. Martin, R. Slaunghoulf, John Locock, John Dargie, Sam Fulton.
